Pep Guardiola says he is living the dream at Man City

Manchester City v AFC Bournemouth - Premier League
Pep Guardiola says he is “living the dream” of every manager because his Manchester City side completely trusts in his ideas.

City thrashed Tottenham 4-1 at the Etihad to secure their 16th straight Premier League win and extend their lead at the summit to 14 points.

City’s march towards a first title under Guardiola appears unstoppable and he explained why, at the moment, his team is able demolish every opponent that crosses their path.

“What we believe now is that we trust each other,’ the Spaniard said. “When I give some opinions they follow us, and that is the dream for the manager.

“What is the most important thing is that, what we believe is the best way to play, they don’t have doubts.

“They know that the manager and the staff and everybody wants the best for them – that is the best present, when you believe the players follow you.

“Of course I am proud of my staff at the three teams [I have managed] to achieve what we have. We work a lot and the players know that.

“All of the three clubs – Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Manchester City – supported me, and in all the decisions they believe, and we have outstanding players.
“Without good players, when clubs support your ideas, it’s impossible to achieve these types of runs.”

Goals from Ilkay Gundogan, Kevin De Bruyne and two from Raheem Sterling secured the win before Christian Eriksen’s late consolation.

City now have a 21-point advantage over Spurs, who were last season’s Premier League runners-up.

“We made an outstanding performance,” Guardiola said. “We scored four goals, created a mountain of chances against one of best teams and coaches in the world.

“We are so satisfied with the mentality and winning these 16 games.”
